Bonnie Foley-Wong

Pique Fund
Director, Founding Investor

Bonnie helps make other people’s ideas happen and her attention is focused on impact investors and entrepreneurs. Her goal is to empower people to make impact investments confidently and in an integrated way.

She has spent her whole career working with investors and entrepreneurs, communicating financial information and vision in order to move money. In 2012, she began developing Pique Ventures, which is now comprised of Pique Venture Investments (VCC), a BC-based early-stage impact venture fund (the “Pique fund”), and Pique Venture Management, which manages the Pique fund and provides products and services to impact investors and other impact funds. She piloted Integrated Investor Training in April 2013, in collaboration with Ogunte in London (presented as Activist Angel Training) and in Vancouver in 2014.

Bonnie is also the co-founder of Spring Activator, a purpose-driven activator of new ventures. Previous to founding Pique Ventures, Bonnie worked with Vancity Credit Union, to launch Resilient Capital Program, which offered a deposit-based product to impact investors and provided debt and equity-based financing to impact ventures.

Before relocating to Vancouver, Bonnie worked in the UK with social entrepreneurs and impact investors such as Big Issue Invest and Resonance from 2009 to 2011. Previous to that, she was a real estate investment banker with Dutch bank, ABN AMRO and Hypo Real Estate Bank (formerly part of HypoVereinsbank, at the time, the second largest bank in Germany). Over the course of her banking career, she financed over a billion dollars of structured capital (EUR 800 million) working with investors such as Fortress, Brack Capital, Credit Suisse First Boston, Crown NorthCorp, and LXB Retail Properties.

From 2000 to 2003, Bonnie was a corporate finance advisor with Deloitte, advising on private equity transactions such as the public-to-private management buy-out of real estate investor, Moorfield Group, a public share offering for a technology company, and the management buy-in of a consumer credit company. Originally from Toronto, Bonnie began her career as an auditor with Deloitte.

Bonnie is a Chartered Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst. She has a Bachelor of Mathematics and Master of Accounting from the University of Waterloo, Canada. She is presently authoring a book on a more integrated approach to investing called Integrated Investing: How to Invest with Head, Heart, Body, and Soul (excerpts of which will be appearing on the Pique Ventures blog). With her husband and young daughter, Bonnie presently resides in Vancouver, Canada, a city where she believes she can have the life, lifestyle, and livelihood she seeks for herself and her family.
